Rules for application and submission form in English

MTVA, the Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund and MTV, Hungarian Television are once again looking for the song which may represent Hungary at the biggest music event in Europe, the Eurovision Song Contest. MTVA has now published the rules for submission enabling artists to apply for the Hungarian national final, A Dal. A new element in this year’s rules the language policy: lyrics may not only be in Hungarian but also in English and in any language of the official national and ethnic minorities living in Hungary. In any case the application has to include the Hungarian translation of the lyrics.

A Dal which is aired for the third year in a row for selecting the song that may represent Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest aims to find new and high quality songs from Hungary with the help of a professional jury and the audience. The two previous editions of the live show series have proved that the Hungarian music scene needs such a platform in order to introduce artists, bands and composers to a larger audience and to provide them a chance to compete internationally as well. With A Dal the Hungarian public service media have managed to create a new tradition in the search for the song representing Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest. The next live shows will take place at the beginning of next year, exact dates are to be announced in due time.
